Rev. Kay “Casey” McKibbon
We are sad to share the news that Rev McKibbon passed away at the end of July at his home in Metcalfe.
Rev Casey was the founder of Clergy Support Memorial Church, which began as a means to restore credentials to pastors who had their credentials lifted unjustly, thus restoring them to ministry. Since then, CSMC has grown by leaps and bounds and its clergy are now involved in all sorts of outreach ministry, chaplainship, and community services. It was Rev Casey’s vision that brought us to this point.
When not building up the church, Casey could be found researching how to attract purple martins to his yard, cultivating Ontario orchids and other native wild plants, supporting various charities, and cleaning graveyard headstones as he worked on various genealogy projects.
Rev Casey is predeceased by his wife Beverly Louise Fenerty-McKibbon, his daughter Frances McKibbon, son Hubert David McKibbon, and granddaughter Lily Cutcliffe. He is survived by his children Kathleen Everett (Todd), Katherine McKibbon, Elizabeth Godon-McKibbon, Colby John Harper (Hester), Heather Marshall, Dawna Cutcliffe (Phil), Rebecca Harper (Daniel), his 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, and two doggies Daisy & Murdoch.
You can find the full obituary here. The church is in the process of appointing an interim chief governing official and we do not expect any interruptions to the day to day workings of the church.
