Clergy Support Memorial Church Micro-Grant Program Returns

All Members Can Apply

OTTAWA — Clergy Support has in recent years expanded its profile and welcomed members and new clergy from different backgrounds and experiences who take part in an incredible variety of amazing activities and projects. The church has always been a regular donor to other charities — both local and international.

Last year, we launched the micro-grant program to take some of that charity and focus it on the causes and projects where our clergy are active.

We have budgeted $5000 for 2021, which will be distributed as a series of micro-grants. Clergy may apply for $250, $500, or $1000 to support a particular outreach or pastoral project that is of special interest to them.

Applications must cover the architecture of the project, timeline, and budget (if applicable), and the scope of the project’s impact. It can be an existing project or program, where the clergy member is a regular participant (for example soup kitchen/volunteer services for immigrants/etc), or a new ministry or program. It can be an ongoing project or a one-time event. If it is a one-time event, the Clergy Support grant does not need to represent the total budget – partnerships are welcome.

Please make your submissions online here. Only one application per person.

The deadline for application is December 14, 2020 at 12:00 PM EST. Selections will be made by the Clergy Support Memorial Church board by the beginning of January 2021.

Priority will be given to community-based projects rather than national or international charities. Consideration will also be made for supporting projects in a variety of locations. We will attempt to select projects in each province where we are active: BC, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia.

Successful applicants must submit a report (maximum 1500 words) at the end of the project/contribution outlining how the grant money was spent, how it allowed the clergy member to begin/continue with their ministry or pastoral care, and what the future steps or challenges lie ahead for this project.

We’re looking to share these projects on this website in order to raise the profile of the ministries that our members and clergy take part in, as well as to inspire other members and clergy.
