Christmas donation matching
Clergy Support Memorial Church will be matching the charitable giving of its members throughout the month of December. There will be a maximum donation of $200 per person and a total ceiling of $2600 for the program. We look forward to seeing what sort of causes and charities you are supporting. It can be global or local!
It may also be part of your gift-giving solutions this holiday season! Making a donation on behalf of a friend or family member is a lovely gesture – especially for people who don’t need more stuff. It can be tied to a cause that is significant to the recipient. Or it can be a talking point for educating the recipient about a cause important to the gift giver. And you don’t have to ship it! Most have a digital or mailed gift card — although there are some charities that provide a physical token of the donation, like receiving a plush animal when you adopt a critter through the Canadian Wildlife Federation.
Here are a few other examples:
Food for the Hungry: you can gift a beehive, a bicycle, or a goat.
International Justice Mission: you can gift a slavery rescue operation, defend widows and children from land theft, or provide a blanket for a survivor of abuse.
World Vision Canada: you can gift chickens, school supplies, or stock a medical clinic
Canada Helps has a well-designed system where you can search charitable gifts by price or by cause.
In order to take part in the matching program, please forward a photo or scan of your charitable receipt to trevor@clergysupportchurch.ca. We will then make the matching donation.
